Re-Elect Victoria Primavera
For Vice President Local 4092
As
many of you know, Local elections will be taking place between February 10-24
& I hope you will consider me when you do cast your vote for one of the 8
positions for Vice-President.
I
have been directly & indirectly involved with the union throughout my 18
years with Air Canada. I first started attending Local Membership
meetings & as my career progressed, I decided to get more involved. In 2007, I joined the Health & Safety
Committee and later became a local Vice president in 2011.
I
have always been an active & vocal advocate for people’s rights as the
President for my Student Union at university, a CUPE Health and Safety
Representative and presently as a CUPE Local Vice-President. I am a diligent and conscientious worker who
has always stood up for what is right.
Also, I believe that knowledge is power & educating our members in
understanding the contract is crucial.
Moreover, navigating though the resources available to us is something
that I take great pride in. I am
confident that I have the skills, passion & motivation to continue to be an
effective representative on your behalf.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- CUPE Vice-President since 2011
- Versed in the contractual language and interpretation of the collective agreement.
- Represented members at meetings with management
- Filed both Meal & Discipline Grievances.
- CUPE Health and Safety Representative, Local 4092 from 2007 to 2011
- Participated in Right to Refuse Unsafe Work investigations.
- Assisted members with queries in regards to work related injuries.
- Educated members on potential hazards within our workplace.
- Flight Attendant 1995 – 1997 and In Charge Flight Attendant 1997 - Present
I do hope you all do exercise your democratic
right and vote and I hope that I can count on your support as well as support
for Denis Montpetit for president, Local 4092.
I support Denis because as Michael
Jordon once said, “Earn your Leadership” or in other words, earn people’s trust
if you want to become a leader, Denis has earned my trust tenfold.
Over the last few years, I have seen
Denis in action. I have been amazed by
his endless energy, always going out of his way to help anyone no matter the
time of day. He has also taught me a lot
from his knowledge of our collective agreement to his dealings with the
company. But most importantly, he is
someone who has always encouraged debate and open dialogue amongst his peers.
I wholeheartedly stand behind Denis
Montpetit as President for Local 4092, I hope you will too.
