Re-elect Edith Gagnon as VP, Local
4092
The last two
years have been challenging for us as a membership. Air Canada, and now the
Government, has shown us how important it is to know our rights and protect
them. This is why we need a strong YYZ Executive to work with our new Component
Officers and other Locals in YUL, YYC and YVR.
I have
chosen to join a group of dedicated and hardworking candidates in order to
emphasize the importance of supporting Denis Montpetit as our Local President.
His many years of experience and devotion to the Flight Attendants alongside
his morality and reliability are exactly what we need in a leader.
The following is the experience I have attained over the last decade or so:
- Grievance Committee member
- CUPE education: Basic Grievance Handling, Involving Young Members, Attendance Management and Innocent Absenteeism
- CUPE National Bargaining Women’s Equality Conference, 2009
- Workers Health and Safety course, Level 1 Federal, 2009
- CUPE National Bargaining Conference, 2013
- McMaster University, 2012, Labour Studies course “Voice, Resistance and Change”
- Hired in 2000 and became a Service Director in 2005
- Spent many years on reserve as F/A and S/D
- Volunteered in the Local office in 2006 and have been elected VP since 2007
- Assisted in our Health and Safety office in 2009
- I am happy to welcome our members in the office in French and English
There is a
wind of change sweeping through our union. A positive one that will help us be
better educated and become more united as a membership. Let’s embrace it. Make
sure you exercise your right and vote! Join me in voting for Denis, Sheri, Dea,
Vittoria, Cynthia, George and Alison.
If you vote for me, vote for Denis!
