CYNTHIA KRYSZAK

Cynthia Kryszak for YYZ Local Vice-President

I am pleased to announce my candidacy in the current YYZ Local Elections! Our Componentʼs vision, “Education, Advocacy and Innovation,” is key to achieving a strong and invested Union.
A good Local VP must be well versed in the interpretation of the collective agreement; research arbitrations that are pertinent to his/her workforce; efficiently handle grievances; keep the members well informed; seek and devise creative ways of countering corporate abuse; and defend the membership with strength and dedication. This is the kind of representation I expect as a member and this is the representation I aspire to deliver in the capacity of Local VP.

My educational background, B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Spanish, taught me how to question, investigate and argue. I have excellent communication skills in both official languages, French and English.

My experience as a flight attendant (15 years) exposed me to the challenges our colleagues face on a daily basis. We share the same frustrations, fears and hopes.

Over the last few years, I have been actively involved in the Union. I have a good knowledge of the collective agreement; I regularly attend local meetings and I educate myself on the issues affecting our membership.

During the last negotiations, many of you suggested I join the Union. Thatʼs what I intend to do. Now, I urge you to take a moment and vote for me as part of your next YYZ Local VP team!
