CANDIDATE FOR CUPE LOCAL 4092 PRESIDENT

My name is Denis Montpetit and I am your candidate for CUPE Local 4092 President.

Throughout my career I have held numerous elected positions and done committee work. As an elected officer I was a contract chairperson under CALFA (Canadian Airline Flight Association).  When we merged with CUPE I held the positions of Local Vice-President, acting Local President, Component Vice-President, hotel chairperson, tabulating Chair Person, and union organizer for Royal Airlines.  I was also a committee member during the Airline Division Convention in Vancouver.

During those years I attended many courses, seminars and conventions.

Since joining Canadian Pacific in 1979 I have flown as both Purser and a Flight Attendant.

My vision for the Local is a full reorganization of how the work is done. One of my first tasks will be mandatory educational courses for all the elected officers of the local to
better serve the membership.  Another item high on my agenda is communication.  I believe the membership should be informed in a timely manner of all union activity.
I would also like to see member involvement in courses and committee work.  Since the abolition of the old structure of the Airline Division we are lacking representation on the Federal Platform.

VOTE for me as your Local President and I promise you that:

  • I will be visible
  • I will be accessible at all times
  • I will listen to all our members
  • I will work for you 110%
  • I will work with all the elected VP's you choose

In solidarity I remain,

Denis Montpetit
Local 4092 Candidate
